Why do auto parts need to add a shaping process after bending?
2020-07-21 16:20:19

Use a single process die to punch some simple auto parts. When parts with complex shape are punched by multi-step stamping process, and the die structure or strength is limited, its inner and outer contour should be divided into several parts. For the workpiece with high flatness requirement, one leveling operation can be added after blanking process.

Whether the structural shape complexity determines the number of working procedures to be used for bending parts, which depends on the number of bending angles, relative position and bending direction. So why add a shaping process after bending sometimes? This is because the bending radius of the bending part is less than the allowable value.

Auto parts

When we add the finishing process after the blanking process or directly use the precision blanking process, this is because of the higher requirements on the cross-section quality and dimensional accuracy of the workpiece.

For the processing of metal stamping parts, our goal is to use less and simple stamping parts, and the designed stamping parts should be simple in shape and reasonable in structure. This is conducive to stamping operation, not only can improve labor productivity, but also is conducive to the organization and production of stamping parts processing, mechanization and automation.

We need to determine the number of processes according to the existing die making capacity and the status of stamping equipment. In addition, the mold making ability must ensure that the mold processing and assembly accuracy meet the standard, otherwise only the number of processes can be increased.

The properties of the material, the height of drawing, the number of drawing steps, the diameter of drawing and the thickness of material determine the process number of drawing parts, but the drawing process calculation is needed to determine. If the fillet radius of the drawing part is small or the dimensional accuracy is required to be higher, it is necessary to add another shaping process after drawing.

To improve the stability of stamping process, we need to increase the number of processes to ensure the quality of stamping parts. For example, additional positioning process hole punching for bending parts, increasing deformation in forming process, reducing hole blanking to transfer deformation area, etc.

It mainly includes the process of sheet metal forming, sheet metal forming, stamping and welding. The process of sheet metal processing is the combination of theory and practice. It is a manufacturing process that organically combines the basic process knowledge, basic process method and basic process practice of mechanical manufacturing.

In this process, attention should be paid to the following aspects: when using the sample drawing, the unfolding method should be convenient for saving materials and processing timeliness; for pressing riveting, budding, punching convex points (package) and other positions and directions should be marked in the section view to facilitate processing and more intuitive understanding; the parameters such as plate thickness, material and plate thickness tolerance should be checked, and the key points should be indicated to prompt the error prone places; the part of drawings should be enlarged for the places with more sizes and more complex; and the products that need to be baked or protected should also be prompted. In short, in the process of sheet metal processing must be strictly in accordance with the processing procedures to complete.
