Attach importance to welding process of automobile parts

The quality of auto parts is the premise to ensure the quality of the whole vehicle, and the welding process is undoubtedly the basis to ensure the quality of auto parts, so we must pay attention to the welding process of auto parts. The quality of the whole vehicle can only be guaranteed if the production process of each link is fine.

CO2 gas shielded welding is mainly a welding process with CO2 as the shielding gas. Its advantages are:

(1) The welding cost is low, only about 50% of the cost of electrode arc welding;

(2) High production efficiency, 2 ~ 4 times as high as that of shielded metal arc welding;

(3) It is easy to operate. As it is open arc welding, there is no limit on the thickness of the workpiece, and it can also carry out all-round welding and downward welding;

(4) The weld has high crack resistance. Because the weld has low hydrogen and low nitrogen content, its crack resistance is high;

(5) The deformation after welding is relatively small, the angular deformation is only 0.5%, and the unevenness is only 0.3%.

The welding process is mainly used for the welding of automobile body skin, rear axle, frame and trunk.

Resistance welding is a welding process in which the workpiece to be welded is pressed between two electrodes, then a certain current is applied, and the workpiece is heated to a molten or plastic state by using the resistance thermal effect generated when the current flows through the contact surface or adjacent area of the workpiece, so as to form a metal bond. The specific advantages of resistance welding are as follows:

(1) The welding cost is low. Resistance welding does not need filler metals such as welding rods and wires, nor does it need welding materials such as hydrogen, oxygen and acetylene, so the total welding cost is low;

(2) It is easy to operate, can realize automation and mechanization, reduce labor intensity and improve working conditions;

(3) No noise and harmful gas;

(4) The heating time is short, the heat is concentrated, the heat affected area is small, and the deformation and stress are small;

(5) Correction and heat treatment are not required after welding.

This kind of welding process refers to using the laser beam as energy to bombard the auto parts, and using a large amount of heat energy generated by the bombardment process to complete the welding work. The advantages of this welding process are as follows: firstly, the heat zones produced by this welding process are smaller, so the deformation caused by heat transfer will be smaller; Secondly, there is no need for the application of electrodes, so there will be no electrode pollution, and at the same time, the device loss can be greatly reduced; Thirdly, there are no requirements for welding materials. At the same time, different materials can be welded together; After welding, the welding quality is high, and mechanization and automation can be realized. Its main advantages are as follows:

(1) The variation range of heat affected zone is small, and the deformation caused by heat conduction is relatively low;

(2) There is no need to use electrodes, no electrode pollution, and the welding process does not belong to contact welding, which can reduce the deformation and loss of machines and tools;

(3) It is not limited by space and can weld small or closely spaced parts;

(4) A wide range of materials can be welded, and materials of different materials or two metals with different physical properties can be joined;

(5) Free from magnetic field interference;

(6) Good welding quality, high production efficiency, easy to realize automation.

According to relevant data, one laser welding robot can replace 3-4 resistance welding robots. If laser welding is fully used in the processing of a car body, the costs of weldment preparation, tooling investment, car body sealing and material consumption can be reduced by about $150, and the utilization rate of steel can be increased by 50%.
